Most Popular Trends of 2024

There is so much talk around what the most popular trends of 2024 will be. How they will differ from the previous years. Which of the famous past trends will be banished and what old trends will come to the front of everyone’s thoughts. Here is my interpretation to what will be popular locally. This is all based on what colors of countertops we have seen being more and more asked about. Also what our cabinet makers are seeing within their scope of work as well.

Bold Colors!

The time of mute colors is over. As much as I, myself, love the gray and light I have also always loved bold colors. That what we are seeing more of. These kinds of colors will add a personalized feel to your space. Even if its just one accent wall, or a two tone kitchen cabinet and countertop combo. Either way, it will look as though you spent hours selecting these particular colors. It can certainly tie together all your favorite colors without overwhelming the space.

Artisanal Pieces!

This may be a time where all the IKEA furniture we had is thrown out and bookshelves and lamps will be purchased from local craftsmen and crafts-women. We can call these statement pieces. They make your focal point be their presence. A wonderful conversation starter! What is not to love? You can find pieces created with love. Each corner of them carefully placed where it belongs. Alternative Materials!

As we have seen in the last few years that each year is a search for a new “Green” Material. All though granite is argued to be green or not. Quartz countertops came in and took over that idea. Not only is it considered Green, but also often marketed as a recycled material. The new material we are seeing for countertops and showers alike is the “New” Porcelain Panels. They come in various different colors as well as thickness. This helps in saving space for a backsplash. Also creating showers that are grout-less. A Few Words from Trend Makers!

All though trend-makers will always depend on where you want to look. I wanted to use something common as a source for some of the trend-maker ideas. I used Forbes and Elle Décor. My Personal Opinion...

What really creates a new Design Trend? Or maybe the better question is WHO? The best kind of trend is that which fills your heart. It is YOUR home after all. When I get customers that ask me what is the most popular trend of 2024, I can always tell them what I have read and seen, but nothing is as satisfactory as finding that which makes you the happies. As we know with clothes most trends circle around. That means Patience wins again. Ha! 😀 Design needs to be fun! This is the time to use those pieces of furniture and design that you always wanted. With bold colors being the trend we should not be afraid of personalizing our space. When the time comes for selling your home there is always adjustments that can be done. In the mean time enjoy your home to the fullest, even if it is a little different than what everyone says.
