Design With Marble

Marble has been around for as long as humans have been building dwellings. We can see it in statues, large living quarters as well as building in our very own downtowns within the United States. With this said, to design with Marble can be a very exciting process. As each piece will have its own unique look. It will be very important for you to select your own piece and often design the rest of your room around the very piece you select. This will of course depend if your marble piece will be the main feature of the room or a more muted aspect. In any case, it will add elegance to your space that you can only get from marble.

Fabrication of Marble Countertops

Marble countertops tend to be said are as soft as butter to fabricate with. This could be from their uniform formation or simply that they naturally are a softer stone than its older relative… granite. Fabrication is once again usually done with commercial grade diamonds but can also be achieved using other tools such as some made with certain metals. Marble also usually has a duller look than granite that is why it is possible to achieve it with using tools other than the diamonds.

Installation Of Your New Marble Countertops

Installation is fairly similar to that of its counterpart Granite. We will arrive early in the morning and start the process. First the area is looked at to make sure all the countertops will fit smoothly. Then they are brought in, one by one and places on the proper location. Then they are leveled and adhered to the surface. Next, seams are placed if needed followed by the backsplash. Finally the sink is installed. All these things may be happening at the same time but generally within this sequence. As each project is unique so is each install. Though they have a general framework as described. After all pieces are installed a walk through will be requested and finall paperwork finished. Then we leave you to your new countertops to sit back and enjoy. We always recommend that you do not use your countertops fully for at least 24 hours. Allowing all the adhesives to cure properly and giving you time to enjoy them without rushing to start cooking and washing dishes. Sit back and enjoy.

A Little History On Granite Countertops

Marble just like Granite has been used for centuries in antiquity. We have seen them in buildings as simple as small home all the way to super detailed dwellings such as the beautiful Taj Mahal in India. If you are not familiar with the Taj Mahal one google search will bring up pictures that will show you the beauty that it is. With this noted, Marble is one of the most special surfaces simply because of its smooth color patterns not found in any other surface. It has a milky texture that give it a uniform look even though veining is prominent in marble as well as it is in granite. Marble is generally labeled a softer and younger stone, which means it can generally be mined in about 60 years compared to that of granite which can take much much longer. So long that we actually don’t even know how long. You must see this surface for yourself to notice all these characteristics. That is what our showroom is for and our wonderful suppliers that we work with. Give us a call and we will talk you through it.

Natural Stone

Marble is a fully natural stone. It is mined in the earth after about 60 years of formation. More or less. No two pieces of Marble are the same giving your kitchen its very own unique look that can not be mimicked by any other surface.

most Unique

Just as the rocks we see on the waterbed of rivers. Marble, a natural stone can withstand whatever nature throws at it. All four elements, wind, fire, water and air. Weathering is sure to happen when it sits outside, but none of which will cause it to fully fail.
